Terms of service
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Rafi Samuel, who runs Fabricwright (“we” below), for use of the provided tools. Signing in, or using the service, means you accept them.
What the service is
Fabricwright exists to help network engineers design, document and implement their networks. It is aimed primarily at greenfield deployments — fabrics built from a clean sheet, where the design and the configuration can be settled together.
It helps you draw that fabric and generates device configuration from it. It is a drafting tool. It does not connect to your network, does not log in to your devices, and does not apply anything anywhere.
Read the configuration before you use it. Generated configuration is a starting point produced from what you entered. It has not been validated against your hardware, your software versions, your existing configuration or your change process. Applying network configuration can interrupt service, cut off management access and cause outages.
You are responsible for reviewing every line, testing it somewhere that does not matter, and deciding whether it is fit for your network. That responsibility is yours alone and cannot be transferred to us by using this tool.
Your account
You sign in with Google or GitHub, so the security of your account here rests on the security of the account you sign in with. Keep it protected, and tell us if you believe someone else has reached your projects.
An account belongs to one person. If colleagues need Fabricwright, each should sign in as themselves — projects and sign-in history then stay attributable to whoever actually made a change, which is rather the point of having them. You need to be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
What it costs
Fabricwright launches free, and while it is free it says so on the site. Paid plans are intended to follow. If that happens, these terms will be updated to cover payment, and existing accounts will be told before anything they already rely on starts costing money. Nothing you have already saved will be held hostage to a plan change — you will always be able to retrieve your projects: Export in the designer downloads a whole project as a file you keep, and Import brings it back.
Your work stays yours
The designs you create are yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your projects, process them to generate configuration, and back them up. We claim no ownership, we do not publish them, and we do not use them to train models.
Passwords and keys in a design
A design can carry real credentials: enable secrets, TACACS and RADIUS keys, and the passwords BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and LDP use between neighbours. These are saved as part of your project and are reachable only by your account. Every request for a project is checked against the account that owns it, so no other user can list, open or export what is yours. Traffic to the site is encrypted.
Inside the saved project those values are held as you typed them rather than separately encrypted, so treat a saved design as you would any other document containing credentials.
If you would rather not put real ones here, you do not have to. Every credential field accepts a placeholder, the configuration generates in exactly the same way, and you substitute the real values at deployment time. Changing them later in the design and regenerating costs nothing.
Using it reasonably
Don't do these things:
- Attack, probe or disrupt the service, or try to reach accounts or data that are not yours.
- Drive the tools automatically at a rate a person could not, or work around the request limits.
- Resell access, or run the service on someone else's behalf as though it were your own product.
- Use it to build something unlawful, or to configure a network you have no authority over.
Availability
The service is offered as it is, with no uptime commitment and no service level agreement. It will occasionally be down for maintenance, and it may be down unexpectedly. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time, and delete your account yourself from the menu under your name; what that removes, and when, is on the privacy page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to damage the service, or where we are required to. Except in serious cases you will be told first and given a chance to retrieve your projects.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that generated configuration is correct, complete or suitable for your network.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or network outages and their consequences. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the service grows. The date at the top changes with them, and material changes are announced on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
